Music, poetry, and other events at an intimate, backyard venue in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Our Space
Maple House is a small, community venue, with two spaces for events:
Backyard: We have a small, wooden stage with space for a full band to play outside to a medium-sized crowd (weather permitting).
Garage: We have a heated garage space for indoor shows, with plenty of space for a full band and a small crowd.
Our Community
Maple House is a woman-owned space with a queer operated/organized service.
We are a safe space; everyone is welcome.
We do not tolerate harassment, hate, bullying, or violence.
Be kind. Be genuine.
If you are not able to show respect to others regardless of their background and identity, we highly recommend you find another venue and maybe take some time to evaluate your life.
We prioritize empowering and supporting marginalized and local artists.

For Bands/Artists
Booking an event
If you are interested in booking an event at Maple House, use the Contact form and we will work with you to schedule, plan, and promote your event.
Notes:
Payment: We split all proceeds equally between the bands and the house at the end of the night (each party receives an equal share, ie, if there are 3 bands, each band receives 25% and then the house receives 25%).
Lineups: If you do not have other acts/bands already in mind, we help to connect you with other artists to schedule a full lineup.
Equipment: We provide full audio services for each event, including a professional audio engineer with a board, mains, monitor, all cords/power, DI boxes for guitars, and mics.
Promotion: Being a residential space, we ask that the address not be explicitly listed on promotions and prefer “DM for address” promotion.
Time: We generally schedule our events to start around 5:30pm or 6:00pm, and try to end shows by 9:00pm on weekdays and 10:00pm on weekends to be respectful of neighbors.

All are welcome! Children are welcome, and our resident child Basil always enjoys new friends.
Cost
We typically ask for donations of $10-$15 from guests, though no-one will ever be turned away for lack of funds.
All proceeds are split equally between the bands and the house.
Food/Drinks
We often (but not always!) sell homemade snacks and drinks at events, such as waffles and lemonade. Food is provided on a donation basis, and is first-come, first-served.
Space
Maple House is an outdoor space. Please dress appropriately!
Well-behaved pets are welcome.
